A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organisations to make their website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a computer server at their site. In South Africa there are various hosting companies, for example Afrihost, WebAfrica, Herzner, etc. There is a yearly cost associated with a registered domain.

If you do not want a domain (e.g. yourname.co.za) then your site can be hosted for free at Wix. There will be Wix advertisements, but it is unobtrusive. WIx cannot host .co.za domains, you will have to use one of the local hosting sites and can then point your Wix site to the domain.
